Protect Your Veins With Effective Treatment

Many patients find varicose veins to be unsightly, and in addition to impacting your body’s aesthetics, they can be painful and in rare cases even impact your health. Veins help deliver blood to the heart and their function is essential to our life. That’s why it’s important to take care of your veins.

Varicose and spider veins can result when the valves of the vein, which control blood flow, become damaged or weak. Varicose veins are big veins that are closer to the skin’s surface that has twisted and bulged due to the pool of blood. They’re notorious for being bumpy and painful and tend to take on a blue or dark purple color. Varicose veins are harmless, but they can become problematic if accompanied by pain, burning, or itching. Spider veins are also near the surface of the skin but are much smaller. They’re typically painless, and patients address them due to aesthetic reasons because they often have a blue or red hue.

Our cardiologist Dr. Zmily provides highly effective treatments for varicose and spider veins so that you can reclaim your confidence and live without leg and ankle pain. Our professionals at Suburban Vein Center are proud to offer Michigan patients in the Detroit, Rochester, Taylor, Troy, and surrounding areas VenaSeal to treat and correct problematic leg veins.

What is VenaSeal?

VenaSeal is a hypoallergenic, anti-microbial, and dental-grade glue used to treat varicose veins. A small amount of VenaSeal is injected into the vein to close it, effectively rerouting the blood to a healthy vein nearby. This not only provides symptom relief from varicose and spider veins but also will reduce their appearance. This treatment is safe, effective, and minimally invasive, offering patients an improvement in their quality of life.

Benefits of VenaSeal

The professionals at Suburban Vein Center strive to provide effective, comfortable treatment, which is why we offer VenaSeal as one of our Sclerotherapy methods. This minimally-invasive procedure has many benefits, including:

  • No need for anesthesia
  • Does not require medication before the procedure
  • Fewer needle sticks needed
  • No heat needed
  • No downtime following treatment
  • No compression stockings are needed after treatment
  • Less pain and bruising following the procedure

VenaSeal Process

During your complimentary consultation, Dr. Zmily will thoroughly review your medical history while evaluating the health of your veins to determine the ideal treatment for your individual needs. VenaSeal may not be right for everyone, and it’s important to discuss any medications you’re taking, especially if they thin your blood.

It’s important to refrain from shaving or moisturizing the targeted area on the day of the treatment. We recommend wearing loose-fitting clothes and comfortable shoes. While the procedure is typically painless, Dr. Zmily can administer local anesthesia to ensure a more comfortable treatment.

We’ll sanitize your leg to remove any bacteria, dirt, or debris before injecting a small amount of local anesthetic. Because we also use a vascular ultrasound, we can ensure more precise treatment. Using this guided technology, Dr. Zmily will inject a tiny amount of VenaSeal inside the vein using a tiny catheter.

VenaSeal seals off the vein, which causes the blood to re-route to a healthier vein nearby. Dr. Zmily will remove the catheter before applying a bandage. Unlike other Sclerotherapy methods, there’s no need to walk around to distribute the medicine, so you’re free to go after the procedure.
